The VDP card that will be shipped to developers will not be the final card we have targetted for production on a larger scale.
Next thing we want to do is to include both a memory mapper with 4MB and the MOS 6581 soundchip (SID). We will use a FPGA to support the read/write buffers needed for the soundchip and the logic to control the memory mapper.
We might create a “in between” card with the logic for the SID only so that interested parties can start testing and write software for the sound card. It all depends on the progress we make on the final design.
The VDP card with memory mapper and SID will be the final product.
